Introduction of New Guyana Passport
In response to the growing demand for a world-class and modern travel document, the Government of Guyana has introduced a new Guyana passport with significantly enhanced biometric and other safety features. It is anticipated that the new passport, which will be available in five or ten-year versions, will match the enhanced prestige of Guyana on the global stage.
The current system for application for and the issuance of passports is being completely overhauled to accommodate the stringent requirements for the new passport. Accordingly, the roll-out of the new passport is being undertaken incrementally at all Guyana Embassies and Consulates around the world over the next few months and will impact all new applications.
The Embassy regrets any unintended inconvenience this undertaking may cause and assures that updated procedures and guidelines will be provided as soon as the new system is fully operational. In the interim, the Embassy remains fully available to advise and assist in all emergencies.
